Osteoporosis and osteopenia: what exercise is recommended?

Osteoporosis affects 1 in 2 women over 50 years old.

There are a few treatments for osteoporosis, and getting appropriate loading on your bones is very important to stimulate bone density.

Getting adequate vitamin D, is also important. To get more vitamin D, exposure to sunlight is recommended. In Sydney, during summer months, only a few minutes will be needed, and in winter 2-3hrs every week will do it.

Osteoporosis medication is commonly taken over many years. Side effects from osteoporosis medications are rare.
Bisphosphanates and Denosumab are the main ones, which aim at slowing down bone loss.
