Real Time Ultrasound
Do you have weak core muscles? Urinary incontinence? A constant cough?
If so, then you are releasing pressure onto the transversus abdominis and pelvic floor muscles, which reduces support for your spine.
The transversus abdominis muscle can only be visualised by real time ultrasound (RTUS).
West Ryde Physio, RTUS is one of the tools we use to help achieve muscle function. The ultrasound shows how your muscles react during exercise and movement. We can see the layers of muscle and fatty tissue and the size and timing of muscle contractions.
Then we can work out a plan to retrain the muscles through physiotherapy.
Types of conditions assisted by real time ultrasound
Lower back pain
Pre/post pregnancy
Poor bladder control (urge or stress incontinence)
Diastasis recti
Post abdominal/pelvic surgery
Prostate surgery
